About My programs and book
My goal--on this website, in my book, and in programs--is to educate. Learning about birds has been a lifetime venture, and I'm still learning. What I do know is that there's much we can do to protect birds. We begin by protecting birds in the yard--creating suitable habitat for year-round residents, for summertime nesters, and for spring and fall migrants. We think globally but act locally--right at home.
Programs, lectures, seminars, and classes about birds--their biology, their behavior, their botany-oriented lives--provides an opportunity for education and gives at mere glimpse of the abundance of information in the book Birds in the Yard Month by Month: What's There and Why and How to Attract Those That Aren't.
My programs are designed to help folks understand how seriously we have impacted birds' ability to survive and what we can do about it.
